| APPLICATION PROCESS |
Note: Prior to beginning the Applicaiton Process, it is suggested that grantseekers review the Before You Apply link on this website. This provides useful information regarding Needmor's grantmaking guidelines and criteria.
The Needmor Fund has two grantmaking cycles per year. Please note that the application process is different for each deadline. Follow the directions appropriate to the deadline for which you will be applying. General instructions relevant to both applications deadlines can be found at the end of this section.
Southeast and Southwest Cluster Deadline: January 10th
This deadline is for applicants located in the Southeast Cluster (which includes Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi) and the Southwest Cluster (which includes Arizona, New Mexico and the southern portions of California and Texas). Proposals are due in our office by 5:00 p.m. on the deadline date.
Organizations applying for this deadline should utilize our Southeast & Southwest Cluster Application Form. The form can be accessed here. Please be sure to follow all of the instructions provided and to include all requested attachments. If you have any questions regarding the application, please contact our Grants Manager at 419-255-5560.
Approximately six weeks after the deadline has passed, you will receive a letter from Needmor stating whether or not your organization will be considered for funding. Final funding decisions are made by our Board at its spring meeting, which is generally held the second or third week of May. Organizations that are approved for funding can expect grant funds to be available sometime in July.
National Learning Community Deadline: May 31st
Note: A Pre-Application Inquiry Form must be submitted by all National Learning Community applicants that are not current grantees of the Needmor Fund.
The Pre-Application Inquiry Form may be submitted any time throughout the year, but must be received no later than May 31st. The form can be accessed here. The purpose of this form is to allow the Needmor Fund to better advise you (in advance) regarding your organization’s funding prospects. Once completed, the pre-application form may either be faxed to 419-255-5561, or e-mailed to preapps@needmorfund.org.
Within two weeks of receipt of your Pre-Application Inquiry Form, you will be informed {in writing or by e-mail} whether submission of a full proposal by your organization is appropriate. This determination will be based on the degree to which your activities match Needmor’s funding criteria. Note: Regardless of the feedback supplied through the pre-application process, your organization may submit a full proposal should you elect to do so. A positive response to the pre-application inquiry does not guarantee the ultimate approval of your full application.
The response you receive to your pre-application will provide you with specific information and instructions regarding submission of your full application. The full proposal will be due in our office by 5:00 p.m. on June 30th.
Approximately six weeks after the deadline has passed, you will receive a letter from Needmor stating whether or not your organization will be considered for funding. Final funding decisions are made by our Board at its fall meeting, which is generally held the second or third week of November. Organizations that are approved for funding can expect grant funds to be available sometime in January.
