A Message from The Needmor Fund

2018 will begin a period of transition and reflection for the Needmor Fund. A significant source of our operating support – a charitable lead trust established by the late Dinny Stranahan – will sunset in 2019.  The loss of this funding will significantly impact our operations, as well as our grantmaking.

To effectively plan for these changes, the Needmor Board has designated the entirety of 2018 as a period for deep reflection and discernment as it plans for the Fund’s future. Important to note is that, during this period, we will be suspending all new grantmaking while we assess and adjust to our capacity going forward.  Continuing grantees, however, will be able to apply for renewal funding throughout their four years of eligibility.

As we go through our planning process, we will be providing regular updates via this website, as well on Facebook. However, if you have specific questions regarding your organization’s status as a grantee, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

Yes, change is inevitable, even for Needmor.  But rest assured, one thing will not change…The Fund will remain firm in our commitment to supporting grassroots community organizing, both now and in the future.
